Recent Renaissance Hollywood Review: "Dates of travel April 12 - 14, 2011 My husband and I traveled to LA for our honeymoon and the Lakers game, but wanted to get the best of both worlds (Downtown & Hollywood), so we decided to stay at the Renaissance because of the location to Hollywood tours and attractions. Upon arrival, the receptionist was able to accommodate our request to have  a direct view of the Hollywood Sign from our bedroom. He actually got us a room on the 20th floor, which is the top floor of the hotel. In order to access this floor, you need a special access on your key card. This also allowed us to have access to the Club House for complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, and dessert each night. This customer service was much appreciated. This really made our time more special. Unfortunately, the room was pretty standard. We had a King bed, with a desk, room chair, and cable TV. The big room window gave an excellent view of the Hollywood sign without obstruction. The bathroom was standard with ample room to move around, yet the tub and shower was connected. We were hoping for a clear shower with separate tub....but not at this hotel. At least not our room. The hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from the Metro train rail and bus stops, so this is a great location if you're wanting to save money and ride the train from LAX. Also the Red Metro line (outside the hotel) takes you to the Blue Metro line which will put you off right outside the Staples Center. The hotel is also connected to the Kodak theater, shopping, and food by taking the M floor and you're right in the middle of the action. Also one of the most popular tour companies, Starline Tours, is in front of the shopping/Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well. Our biggest upset is the cost of Internet access. I believe its $9/night (not sure though..we didn't even bother to check since there was a charge). We figured this wasn't an issue since they have a 24/hr business center. To our surprise, they charge to use the internet in the business"
